Remedies To The Top 10 Excuses For Not Working Out: By Jesse Jones
Over the course of the last 10 weeks I have given you the different excuses that people use for not working out, and as well I've equally displayed my utter disgust with each of them.  Now when it comes to excuse #10 I must say that I am actually somewhat pleased by the nature of this response as it depicts the highest level of honestly among the other excuses listed.  Anytime someone can look you in the eye and say "Simple and plain, I hate it" toward anything they should be commended for their straight forward and to the point honesty... Congratulations!  Your truthfulness has instantly made you worthy of great respect.  You have successfully overcome my most basic of instincts that would cause me to lose respect for you, but you've failed tremendously in the ever so much more important category of earning my acceptance of such ridiculous garbage.  That's right!  Here we go again.
From the time of our childhoods, to our adolescence, and well on into adulthood we have all discovered that many of the things we hate are the things that either can't  be changed, are good for us, or aren't really as much of a threat to us as we may think they are.  This is not limited to only vegetables, school, church, cleaning, hygiene, and other disciplines.  Can a person really hate working out that much?  When thinking of the positive benefits of working out I really doubt it, as I am sure it must be about something else.  So what is it?  Although a theory of man, I reallly believe it to be true that mankind tends to fear what they don't understand and hate what they can't conquer.  Whether or not you believe that is totally up to you, but the proof is there in many examples and I'll give you a few.  How many people  hate top athletes or sports teams as a mere result of the fact that they just haven't been able to beat or see them defeated?  I know I have before and so have you.  How often is a person terrified at the idea of going somewhere, doing something, or giving way to an idea that is totally new?  We all have.  How many people do you know of right now or in your past that is or has been totally threatened by someone who is just different?  Not strange but different.  You see, the dynamics of fear and hate are one in the same in the fact that they self-perpetuate  and create a cycle that goes directly against the virtues of faith and love.  When one fears or hates something, that something doesn't stand a chance to make it past the stages of thought.  On the other hand, faith and love opens us up to a whole new world of possibilities that eventually rules out any fear that may exist in our hearts.
So how does this play into taking care of your body?  When you have a healthy respect for your life and your 1 and only body, you begin to experience the great joy of loving yourself, and in turn creates a new level of respect from within that causes the value of self-care to increase.  When you lack love for yourself it only perpetuates self hate, in which then brings about fear, and fear is crippling, and as a result it causes a lack of motivation to do anything about it.  Everything in this world (positive or negative) reproduces more of it's own kind, so wouldn't it be great to to reproduce the positive virtues of self respect, love, and faith toward the ability to change your life for the better?  To get the ball rolling in the right direction let me encourage you to just get started by taking on my personal challenge to do 10 - 20 mins of exercise at least 3 days a week for the next month.  It usually takes about a month to build and/or break a habit, good or bad.  It also gives your body enough time to reap the benefits by feeling better, looking a little different, and increasing your overall ability and capacity that will inevitably lead to a new level of self respect.  If you don't know what types of exercises to do then go to the Phenom 1 Phitness facebook page and there will be a challenge every other day for you to do.  Once you make this a habit, it will then begin to start a new and positive cycle in your life.  So as for the "Simple and plain, Jess I hate working out" proclamation, allow me to say... DENIED!  The real answer is that your lack of self love has only gotten in the way of your ability to attempt to change, and it disguises itself as hate, and the real problem is that you need to work on not being succeptible to any more FALSE-EVIDENCE-APPEARING-REAL.   Lastly, if anything we all shoud only fear the repercussions of not taking care of our bodies and lose the fear of committment it takes to better ourselvelves.  Once again, Thanks for reading.

Remedies To The Top 10 Excuses For Not Working Out: By Jesse Jones
Whoever coined the term "creative genius" toward talented thinkers and innovators was absolutely correct, although I must say that he/she forgot to give credit to the "masters of excuses" who have also committed themselves fully to operating in their creative juices as well.  The only difference is that most of those referred to as having creative genius are usually those who have and/or will influence the world in ways that add and multiply with enormous positivity. These incredible individuals love to enrich, encourage, and increase everything of worthy value in themselves as well as those around them.  While on the other hand those reffered to as the "Masters of Excuses" are the underachieving, finger pointing, energy zapping portion of society dedicated to dealing in equasions of subtraction and division at the costly expense of themselves as well as everyone around them.  These thieves in particular have absolutely no problem whatsoever with taking as much as they can from everyone around them without the slightest intentions of pulling their own weigh or giving back.  Which one are these are you?  You're either one or the other as there is no in between on this one.
Now that we've covered that, please allow me to express my utter disgust with the ridiculous nature of excuse #9 It's Too Hot, Too Cold, It's Raining, It's Snowing etc...  Oh really now?  Have you ever been told that you can't help anyone in this world until you help yourself?  Well I have... So PLEASE Gimmie a break!!!  How dare we even think to use something that we can never get around no matter what we do or how hard we try.  I can understand rare situations of extreme weather affecting us for a day or two here n' there, but routinely throughout the year...?  C'mon I'm not buying it.  Once again, rain or shine we choose what we will or won't do in this life on a day to day basis.  No matter where we live we all have a certain climate to contend with and we all must decide on how severe the conditions must be in order to proceed or cancel.  Granted, weather plays a huge factor in alot of things but only certain extreme elements are non negotiable in constituting a no go, and those elements are fire, flood, and (freezing over) blizzard like conditions.  So basically, these are the things that keep us from driving a vehicle to a destination to avoid risking life itself.  I could easily write about all the things people still find a way to do in each of these elements, especially in snowy conditions, but I won't.  Instead I'll ask you a few questions... How many of us sunbathe and/or have total fun in the sun events lined up across the board for summer time or any hot weekend?  How do we get by when it's raining and we have many outside events we go to, errands to run and/or places to travel to by car and we still go (risking Pneumonia) ?  How many times have we been granted a snow day (from school or work) and we spend more time driving to bypass going home in exchange for a day of mall shopping and restaurant dining?  Tell the truth because I can personally vouch for Colorado Springs residents spending snow days in the mall and restaurants as I used to work in a mall shoe store as well as a very popular restaurant, and I was busier on those days than any other.  The worst part of all is that we tend to complain about our bodies and our health the most while we are doing these various activities.  As I deny the ability to use weather as an excuse to not workout, I must now make a sound suggestion and I strongly suggest that if you are serious about taking care of your body then no more allowing these various activities to take priority over your workout, especially in adverse weather conditions.  Also, The good thing about working out is that driving somewhere to do it is not 100% necessary as there are many alternatives in terms of location.  I know that not everyone is serious about working out but for those of you who are, make me a pinky swear promise that if your mode of transportation cannot deliver you to your workout then it should also fail to deliver you anywhere else.  Thank You for reading.

Remedies to the Top Excuses For Not Working Out By Jesse Jones
Stress is everywhere, stress is all around us, stress will never leave, and as a matter of fact stress is so bad sometimes that we stress about being stressed.  I'm stressed about writing this, you're stressed about reading it, and the editors are stressed about making sure that this as well as other articles and ads get put together and published on time.  Home has stress, work causes stress and so does school, there is stress in traffic, stress is driving next to you and in front of you, and if that isn't bad enough the police officer behind you is causing you even more stress, and the worst part of all is that he's stressed out while attempting to make sure he/she has the right person who deserves the ticket to meet their legal requirement.  The economy is stressful while the media stresses the importance of us all knowing about it every waking moment.  Hollywood is stressed because everyone is sooooo underpaid, sports stars are suffering an even worse financial tragedy yearly while their extremely underpaid (6 - 7 figure per year) agents stress out the team owners who are even more stressed for how much they may have to pay their player to satisfy both sides.  Your mom is stressed, your dad is stressed, the kids are stressed, school teachers are stressed, churches and pastors are stressed, even the next cow going to the slaughter is stressed;  And we choose to eat the very same meat (undercooked) from that animal which adds even more stress to our lives, Wow!  Cook that stress filled blood out of your meat please, but we don't think about that now do we?  I'm sure by now the amount of times you've read the word stress in this article is beginning to stress you out huh?  Don't lie, because it's already stressing me out but now I must stress the fact that I'm not finished just yet, so please bare with me.
Here are a few things you may be familiar with that cause stress.  War causes stress, Crime causes stress, jail causes stress, and especially the death of anyone we know causes stress.  On the other hand, bills cause stress, marriage causes stress, divorce causes stress, rumors cause stress, our hectic schedules cause stress, and ironically many of us find a way to stress even while on vacation.  Contrary to popular belief, smoking, drinking, drugs, violence, and many other out of control undertakings cause us great long term stress although we tend to rationalize those very acts as destressers, but I'm throrough convinced that deep down we all know better.  Now after stressing these many facts of life (and there are many more) I'm sure that you've got my point by now, and with that said I have a very important question to ask.  Ready?  How many of the above mentioned issues will we ever be without in this world during our lifetime?  If you're 100% honest, you'll say none.  So now I ask, "What is the most logical remedy at this point"?  Well my answer is not elimination but it is management.  Stress management that is.  In previous articles as well as proven global knowledge it has been heavily stressed, mentioned, and understood that regular exercise is one of the main key approaches in achieving effective stress management.  From the releasing of various hormones, to the activation of key endorphins (that help us cope with stress), sparked by exercise that ultimately produces that feeling of good vibrations, how can we even fathom fighting the battle against the numerous sources of stress without it?  Now, allow me to ask you a serious question.  Are you still too stressed out to do yourself a huge favor and workout?  Until next time, Thanks for reading!

Remedies To The Top Excuses For Not Working Out: By Jesse Jones
When it comes to working out and health & fitness I've always said "If it were easy, the whole world would do it" and that is the exact reason only 2-3 out of every 10 individuals are fit today.  It has been agreed upon by many that anything worth having in this life is worth fighting for.  So here we are again back to the important question of what's most important to you and does your health still rank very low on your list of priorities?  Hopefully it doesn't, but assuming it does then please allow me to ask you why.  Why?  Why would you mistreat the 1 and only lifelong companion that goes everywhere you go, and is also affected by everything you do and/or every decision you ever make?  So who is this companion?  Hmmm let me think...Oh yeah thats it... it's your 1 and only body.  You know, that unique functional mechanism that deserves much more than to be kept down by continuing to tell yourself that "It hurts too much to workout".  Really now?  So you're telling me that you've never done anything painful with zero benifit attached.  Well in all fairness to your life, here is a list of everyday things we choose to do that produce pain and yet yield no positive benefit.  Ready?  Well here they are.
1. Smoking daily
2. Excessive drinking
3. Reckless Driving (under the influence)
4. Lack of sleep
5. Random acts of violence
6. Using or Abusing multiple medications

Now these are all of the things that we should work on ridding ourselves of in exchange for a more healthier lifestyle that includes regular exercise and better food choices.  Also be sure to understand the difference between exercise related injury and exercise induced soreness, which in most cases is what causes one to avoid training the body with any kind of regularity.  If you can firmly grasp the fact that soreness is merely a phase in the getting fit process and that it soon diminishes with the continuance of training, only then will you  have overcome the most necessary aspect of starting & finishing.  In the case of reaching you fitness goals, the idea of finishing is more or less about continuing the training process and not giving up.  Also, if you take into account the affect that weakness has on the human body and the pain it ultimately causes (in many cases irreversible) then you will undoubtedly choose the temporary discomfort associated with working out over that of a more permanent pain that results from total body weakness.  Total body weakness can cause a chain reaction of muscle weakness, joint discomfort, and chronically degenerating bones throughout the entire body that will eventually affect ones overall structural support which the human body greatly depends on as a part of optimal health.  To put it plain, "Pay now or Pay later" its your choice.
Perhaps, I should compare the road to getting fit to the process of childbirth, except that once the pushing begins during labor there is no turning back and stopping is no longer an option.  In closing, if you've been avoiding getting going then allow me to encourage you to just get started, continue and make quiting a non option.  Then alas , much like childbirth the consistent effort, determination, and pushing will inevitably bring forth a strong, beautiful, new life full of possibilities and energy that will enlighten the world around you as it flourishes and bears its very own fruit.  Thanks for reading.

Remedies To The Top Excuses For Not Working Out: By Jesse Jones
No Intro Necessary for excuse #6. "I Have No Time To Workout"
Wow!  What a concept- No Time Huh?  Have you ever heard the saying "Wherever you go there you are" or "Nowhere to run to - Nowhere to hide"?  Well let me put it this way.  Your body (healthy or not) will always go everywhere you go, and no matter how hard you try you'll never be able to hide from the way you look or feel.  Now with that said, I'll attack the "No Time To Workout" excuse with somewhat of a questionairre before I step into remedy mode.  Aside from the obvious (work, children, and religion) what are you allowing to run your life in terms of activities, events, hobbies, and habits?  For example: Have you watched movies, attended any gatherings, or events of any kind lately?  Do you smoke, drink, gamble, or go out to eat regularly?  Do you ever find that you spend quite a considerable amount of time cleaning you car an a regular basis?  Do you sleep way more than necessary, overeat, or do you just find yourself lounging around the house due to a lack of self motivation?  Well if you answered yes to 1 one or more of these questions, then you  definitely need help and are on your way to finding the answer to the dilemma of poor time management and prioritization issues.  You see the above list of activities, events, hobbies, and habits all have one major thing in common.  If not properly prioritized each of these things have, can, and will continue to steal away your desire and chances to get healthier, as well as looking and feeling great.  So decide today to implement taking care of the one and only god given body that you have by exercising and adding nutritional value to your daily life.  The truth is, exercise can be as little as 20 - 30 minutes a day for at least 3 - 4 days a week.  So stop sabataging your chance to get started by taking on unrealistic goals of 2 hour workouts- 6 days a week, drinking a gallon and a half of water, and eating as perfect as Jack Lalane- it's really unnecessary.  Although I will say that more water is very important, so work on beginning each day with a cup of water before any else goes into the body.  Start slow, stick to your decision, and don't let anything get in the way of you and your goals, and if you mess up (and you will) just get right back on it and keep going.  In turn you will be able to excel and increase your abilities in all activities, be more lively and have more energy at events, master and enjoy your favorite hobbies, and most importantly overcome and eventually destroy all of your bad habits.  For all of you that are reading my articles, please understand that I'm not throwing a gym membership at you but nevertheless I'm attempting to encourage you to know that you only have 1 BODY and 1 LIFE.  So start today by taking care of it, and it will most definitely take care of you!  Until next time, Thanks for reading.

Remedies To The Top 10 Excuses For Not Working Out: By Jesse Jones

As I ponder on the next excuse people tend to use for not working out... 5. I'm Too Tired To Workout, I find myself staring down the barrel of another very dangerous and loaded question.  Ready?  Well here it is... What came first, the chicken or the egg? It's a classic case of cause and effect.   Now since we're talking about being too tired to workout, allow me to ask you this instead... What came first, inactivity or fatigue?  Granted, in todays society we have a million and two reasons as to why we can be tired on a regular basis, but aside from the obvious and excusable I'm going to launch my attack at the actual and illogical.  Now brace yourself and find the positives, because I'm not looking to make any friends by opposing this one, let alone any of the other excuses routinely given.
Leading the way today is three questions I want you to answer honestly followed by the above mentioned question of today.  1. When was the last time you went out to a club and/or partied the same day after not working out, and didn't bother to workout the next day either?  Now you tell me what came first, inactivity or fatigue?  2. How many sporting events, concerts, and/or any other form of entertainment have you treated yourself to without having exercised in the days leading up to or following those events?  Now once again what came first, inactivity or fatigue?  3. What was the benefit in bypassing that well needed (or overdue) workout in exchange for a day out shopping, watching television, or an afternoon of fun in the sun involving food and drinks?  Then ask yourself one more time what came first, inactivity or fatigue?  OHH BOY I've done it now!  I can hear so many of you saying, "But yeah Jess those things you listed are the fun things in life" and I say "You're right" but If you are guilty of any 1 or all 3 of these chronic habits with any sense of regularity, then allow me to say "Shame on You" because these very things you could still do alongside a life of regular exercise.  So guess what?  SORRY EXCUSE DENIED!!!
Now that we've gotten those out of the way, let's move into the remedies to this prevalent epidemic.  There are so many ways to fight fatigue and I will give you a few of the most important on my personal list.  We all need to be aware of our hydration levels at all time, so therefore we must drink more water as water is the most forgotten nutrient and the essence of all living things and beings.  Although hard to do for alot of us but is a must, we must do a better job of eating breakfast as it is the way we start our day and sets the tone for a healthy metabolism, digestion, and proper biological balance.  With the mention of breakfast we must eat foods from each food group as well as foods rich in fiber for a stronger sense of energy production and waste movement.  Lastly, concerning food we must eat smaller regular meals throughout the day to help stay well nourished, fuel the body, and fight off sluggishness.  Try to avoid anything with caffiene in the late afternoon, otherwise it will be difficult to achieve a quality sleep throughout the night.  By all means avoid heavy meals before bed time as this is a formula for disaster, causing a lack of sleep, slow metabolism, and indigestion which also negatively affects sleep.  Of course regular exercise is an obvious factor, but stretching needs to be on the to do list as it relieves the body of tens of thousands of toxins that tend to have a negative affect on our overall health and sense of well-being.  Lastly, we all need to sleep more to be productive in being able to perform all of the above mentioned tasks.  In a nutshell it all boils down to closely managing Food Intake- Timing- Nutrition- Exercise- Stretch- Sleep for a better quality of of life throughout each day, and if you didn't notice that spells FITNESS.  Remember, tomorrow is coming no matter what so what will you do with today?  Until next time... Remedies To Top Excuses For Not Working Out: By Jesse Jones
Well I'm finally back after a short break last week and now we will move right into our next ridiculous excuse for not working out.   I would have to say that this is my personal favorite and obviously by far the favorite for so many to use.  #4. I can't afford it, Working out is just too expensive "yeah you heard it right that the very country (USA) notoriously known for overspending on unnecessary purchases, highest debt-to-income ratio, and a pure all out massively consumer based society has actually stooped so low as to utter the very words, "I can't afford it".   As I always say "people are going spend money on what's most important to them and that's exactly why barbers, hairstylists, car dealers, retail clothing, and shoe stores are doing so well.   So if you want to see a person go into excuse mode really quick, then just offer them a fitness program where change is required.  In a previous article that I wrote entitled "PAY NOW OR PAY LATER" I pointed out that perhaps the hard earned money that one may achieve will soon be put to use for medical purposes in attempt to salvage and/or repair what's left of a detoriorated body and overall health.  Lets be really honest here and admit that too many times fitness has been put on the back burner(for some financial reason) just to have the very same person spend an equal to or larger amount on something else that adds no value whatsoer to their life.  The good thing is that there are many options as to the type of programs and/or services a person can choose from.   So my advice to you is to pick one  to get started ASAP and realize that time is money and money is time and that we cannot afford to waste either of them.  Thanks for reading!

Remdies To The Top Excuses For Not Working Out: By Jesse Jones
Now that we've covered both the #1 and #2 excuses for not working out let's move on to the next at at #3. But... I have kids.  Well let me start off by saying "Oh really Now" and the rest of this overpopulated world doesn't?  As a proud parent of 3 and being a full-time business owner with 20+ regular clients and a mortgage to pay I could also but would never even dare use such bologna as to why I won't take care of my own body.  If you noticed I didn't say can't, but I said won't because that's what the problem really boils down to in this instance.  The worse part about the "I have Kids" thing is that most people don't even use that would be workout time to be with their kids anyway, and for those who do (or claim to) dedicate every waking moment to their children, then I'm sure  you're spending time taking them to and/or are watching them be involved in activities with some degree of physical demand.  Well I say join them since the time is going to go by anyway, and especially during those times where nothing else is vying for your time.  Also in the same way we all wish to lead by example for our children to see and pattern themselves after, then what better way than by Taking care of the one and only body that we've been given to dwell in on this earth.  Remember the last time you took a nap or went to sleep and the world (your kids too) survived without you?  Well your kids and this entire world will do just fine without you (for an Hour) while you go and get a quick workout in, and as well you'll be able to keep up with them a little easier and for many years to come. So if you have been and/or are still using this excuse, then let me boldy say "DENIED" and find a new one.  Thanks for reading!

Remedies To The Top Excuses For Not Working Out: By Jesse Jones
Ok now that we've covered the first excuse for not working out which is being too old, it is time to move onto the next are you ready?   Let's take a close look at #2. I'm just too embarrassed to workout.  In a world where we have often mislabeled fitness minded individuals who are committed to their health and to looking their absolute best as self-absorbed, conceited, and/or utterly vain, I'd certainly say "Well isn't that the pot calling the kettle black" and I'll prove it.  Many sociological studies of human behavior refers to public embarrassment as a direct result of ones own negative self-image in which the person with the issue itself devotes an enormous amount of time to thinking of themselves only and often in most cases to the point of self-absorbance and/or vanity.  It's one thing to overly think of ones own self (positive or negative) but it's an entirely separate story to believe that others are paying such close attention to them as well, and if others were paying such close attention then wouldn't it make great sense to give people something more attractive or appealing to look at and in turn creating a healthier self image.  So for today I'm going to let the in shape individuals off the hook and simply say good job while I will tighten the reins a bit on the not so in shape folks and say "Get over yourself" drop the excuses and get it done.  To insure the proper motivation from the start don't just do it for yourself only but do it also for the loved ones in your life that you want to be around a while to see, and I guarantee you that then you will have a greater purpose beyond the selfish reasons that have thus far kept your mind on you and has held you captive as a lifelong prisoner of embarrassment.  For help getting started sign up as an email subscriber to our website at www.phenom1studio.com or email me at jj@phenom1studio.com And Once again thanks for reading and stay healthy.

Remedies To The Excuses For Not Working Out: By Jesse Jones
I mentioned yesterday in the top 10 excuses for not working out that I would give my own personal feedback and/or remedy for each excuse one at time right?  Well here we go with excuse #1.  I'm too Old to workout.  First let me start by saying Wow!  Is that really coming out of the mouths of the vast majority of todays society?  Well as painfully sad as it is I must answer yes so therefore I will handle it promptly with great resillience and a combination of logic and science.  First of all it is a well known fact that giving the body regular exercise has many benefits in terms of slowing down the aging process by activating the very hormones that keeps one looking good and feeling younger than their current age.  It's no secret among fitness & healthcare professionals that heart disease has become the most lethal cause of premature death in our society especially among women and has been known to claim the lives of many as early as in their late 20's and early 30's.  There is also another widespread epidemic sparking major concern as people head into their early 40's, and that would be severe and rapid bone degeneration better known as Osteoperosis which has been known to be detected as early as the early to mid 30's whereas in the premature phase it's considered Osteopena.  Importantly in both the cases of Heart Disease and Osteoperosis alike, early detection and/or prevention is advised.  Please understand that a lifestyle involving a healthy workout program including resistance training and cardio both helps to build stronger bone density and fights against any rate of bone degeneration, and as well a lifestyle of healthy eating and proper nutrition that includes a regular intake of Essential Fatty Acids (EFA's) play a major role in protecting the heart.  Now being proven that regular exercise and a heart healthy (nutritional) diet is the best method for prevention and/or reversal of such debilitating and life threatening diseases, then allow me to end this by posing a final question.  With exercise and Nutrition being proven as the fundamental essentials for living a long and healthy life, then perhaps could it be that People really aren't too old to workout but rather they have just become to old to live?  Think About It until next time, Thanks for reading.
